english version «	In diesem Jahr richtet die Stiftung film\|spiegel ihren Focus auf den Animationsfilm. Typisch Niederländisch? Nein, denn das breite Spektrum von Animationen, die in den vergangenen Jahren auf beiden Seiten der Grenze von meist jungen Filmkünstlern produziert worden sind, decken jeweils die gesamte technische und inhaltliche Bandbreite dieser besonderen Form des Filmemachens ab und sind daher nicht im Vergleich, sondern ganzheitlich, eben „grenz-übergreifend“ zu betrachten.
	Der film\|spiegel stellt somit Werke von Filmemachern beider Länder vor, der renommierte niederländische Trickfilmkünstler Paul Driessen pflegt gar die Professur an der Filmakademie Kassel und der filmische Autodidakt Jochen Kuhn ist als Referent wie auch mit seinen Kunst-Filmen auf fast jedem niederländischen Festival zu Gast. Die Arbeit an den Hochschulen wird durch Programme der Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg in Ludwigsburg und der Kunstakademie St. Joost in Breda vorgestellt. Wissbegierige, denen das Betrachten der Filme auf Zelluloid nicht ausreicht, finden auf der Ausstellung „Ausgetrickst“ einen Einblick in den Entstehungsprozess.
	Die Auswahl für die Spielfilme des diesjährigen film\|spiegel- Programms war im Vorfeld von dem europaweit einzigartigen Kooperationsabkommen zwischen der Filmstiftung NRW und der Stichting Nederlands Fonds voor de Film geprägt. Das Abkommen gibt vor, dass bei einer Koproduktion zwischen Firmen aus NRW und NL mindestens 50% des Förderdarlehens in dem Land ausgegeben werden muss, das die Förderung ausspricht.
	Ein weiterer Meilenstein zur Intensivierung der bestehenden engen wirtschaftlichen und kulturellen Zusammenarbeit der Medienbranche ist somit gesetzt worden. Mit der Deutschlandpremiere SEA OF SILENCE präsentiert der film\|spiegel in Münster beispielhaft eine der Koproduktionen dieses Abkommens. Natürlich sind auch weitere „Leckerbissen“ im Programm zu finden. Die neuen niederländischen Spielfilme bedienen wie von je her alle Genres und nehmen jegliche bizarren Aspekte des menschlichen Zusammenlebens aufs Filmkorn.
	Sei es eine bunte Schar quirlig singen- und tanzender Seniorenheimbewohner im Kampf um Ihre Einrichtung, der nach Anerkennung und Liebe haschende junge Maikel, der in Venlo auf die schiefe Bahn gerät, die spannende Entwicklung eines Interviewgespräches zwischen einem Politik-Journalisten und einem TV-Soap-Star oder der aus der Psychiatrie entflohene Rollstuhlfahrer, der beim Trampen an der Grenze auf den deutschen Söldner Müller trifft – er zijn films voor ieders smaak! Deutsche Version «	This year, the focus of the film\|spiegel foundation is on animated films. A typically Dutch genre? Not really, since the broad range of animated films produced by mostly young filmmakers both in Germany and the Netherlands over the last few years covers the entire technical and thematic spectrum of this specific cinematographic genre. Comparisons should thus not be made between the two nations, but rather in a way that transcends such boundaries and focuses on individual talents and techniques.
	The film\|spiegel will present works by filmmakers from both countries. The renowned Dutch artist and cinematograper Paul Driessen is a professor at Kassel Film Academy in Germany, and Jochen Kuhn, the self-taught German director of highly artistic films, is invited to almost every Dutch film festival, either as a speaker or a director. Work at film schools will be documented by programmes of the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy and the St. Joost School of Fine Arts in Breda.
	The exhibition ”Ausgetrickst” will provide new insights into the techniques of animated films for all those who wish to learn more about how such films are made, rather than just watching the finished product.
	Selection of the feature films for this year’s film\|spiegel programme was made according to the co-operation agreement between the Filmstiftung NRW and Stichting Nederlands Fonds voor de Film. This agreement which is unique in Europe stipulates that in the event of a co-production between companies from the Netherlands and North-Rhine Westphalia at least 50 % of the grant awarded has to be spent in the country/federal state that conceded it. This is surely another milestone in the process of an increasingly close economic and cultural co-operation within the media sector. SEA OF SILENCE which will have its German premiere at this year’s festival is a case in point – and surely one of its highlights. Not the only one, though, since Dutch feature films with their generic diversity and relentless satire of the more bizarre aspects of human existence are often highly entertaining.
	Tastes differ, but ”er zijn films voor ieders smaak” – whether it’s a group of very lively elderly people who can’t stop singing and dancing while fighting against the imminent closure of their home, young Stan from Venlo in danger of going astray, while all he needs is some love and respect, the political journalist whose interview with a TV soap opera star takes a rather unexpected turn or the inmate of a psychiatric hospital who flees hitchhiking in his wheelchair and meets a German mercenary named Müller.
